Situated at the innermost edge of Ise Bay, which is located at the center of the Japanese Archipelago on the east coast facing the Pacific Ocean, the Port of Nagoya has steadily grown since it opened for international trade on November 10, 1907. The Port is an integrated international port, handling all types of cargo (general, container, bulk, other). We are the largest port in Japan in terms of total cargo throughput, which reached 197 million tons in 2018.
VICT was established on the 22nd of September 1994, following the investment licence 996/GP issued by the State Committee for Cooperation and Investment (SCCI) and now the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI). The company has been licensed for a 40-year joint venture between Southern Waterborne Transport Corporation (SOWATCO) of Vietnam and the Singapore-based MITORIENT, the latter holds 63% in a partnership between the NOL group of Singapore and Mitsui & Company of Japan, while SOWATCO holds the remaining 37% of the company shares.
Da Nang Port
Da Nang Port is located in Da Nang Bay with the area of 12km2 and the convenient transportation system; now, it is an important gate in the logistics service chain of the Central Vietnam. Da Nang Port is also selected as the terminus of the East–West Economic Corridor, linking four countries including Myanmar, Thailand, Laos and Vietnam, also as the main gateway to the East Sea for the entire region. Currently, Da Nang Port includes the main port as Tien Sa Port and its subsidiaries, owns nearly 1,200m of berths with the capacity of receiving cargo vessels up to 50,000 DWT, container ships up to 2,500 Teus and passenger ships up to 75,000 GRT; in addition, the loading and unloading equipment and modern warehouse, in order to ensure the exploitation capacity of up to 8 million tons/year.
